Dear Seedling Families,

It is our pleasure to welcome our new friends to the Seedling room. This is the first time that all of our babies are siblings, and you are familiar with our room. We know it isn’t any easier for you to leave your infant and return to work. We want to do everything possible to make this transition as easy and smooth as possible for you and your child.

Communication is very important to us. Please don’t hesitate to tell us about your infant’s likes, dislikes, what works for you at home, and any preferences you may have in their care. You are the expert on your child, and we value what you have to tell us about them and your hopes for their care here at Growing Tree.

Most of you remember Miss Jo, who has been in the Seedling room for 17 years now! Her third (and final) Growing Tree graduate just left for kindergarten. She enjoys spending time hiking, biking, swimming, camping, and surfing on the coast with her family. Early morning runs help organize her thoughts and keep her calm throughout the day, as well as plenty of coffee. Miss Jo’s shift is from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Devi joined the Growing Tree team in January as a Big Seed Teacher and chose to move to the Seedlings room shortly after when the opportunity arose. She enjoys concerts, spending time with friends and family, and good food. She has worked in child care for many years, and we are happy to have her. Miss Devi’s shift is from 8:00 to 5:00.

As parents ourselves, we know how hard and stressful it is to leave your infant in the care of another, and we are honored that you chose us.

Reminders:

1. Please be sure to label all of your child’s supplies, including diapers(just the package), wipes, sleep sacks, binkies, bottles, and breastmilk.

2. Breast milk should be labeled with the child’s

name and the expressed date. We can only store breast milk for two weeks in the freezer and use the oldest milk first. Fresh milk can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days. Thawed milk will be

used within 24 hours. If you have any questions regarding breast milk storage, thawing, use, and discarding of leftovers, don’t hesitate to ask.

3. We will message any supplies needed for the following week on Friday. Please bring supplies and a clean sleep sack on Mondays in a bag with your child’s name on it. We will empty it and hang it by the door.  Any dirty clothes or items that need to go home will be placed in the bag. Sleep sacks will be added on Friday to go home and be washed.

4. You can use the Brightwheel app to send us a message in the morning letting us know when your child woke and ate last. This lets us know where they are in their schedule so we can better predict what they will need next.

We look forward to getting to know everyone and watching our new Seedlings grow!

Ms. Jo and Ms. Devi
