Dear Sprout Families,
Our first month down! This month has marked the start of a new classroom with some fresh faces! Our Sprouts who have been here have been so welcoming to our new friends, offering a helping hand and showing them what a day in the Sprout room looks like! Eleanor, Avery, Archer, and Hudson have been doing a great job during this transition from the Big Seed room to the Sprout room! This month, the main focus is getting to know your kiddos and fostering strong connections with them. Creating a space where your kids feel safe and loved is so important to us, and it supports their developmental growth in our classroom.
This month has not only changed our classroom but also the world outside! Cooler weather is setting in, the trees are starting to change, and spooky season is approaching! As a Vermonter, this is my favorite time of year. We will focus on the changes of autumn and the fun that fall brings!
Reminders
With colder weather approaching, we want to make sure we have extra layers at school! The mornings can be quite chilly, and once the sun comes out, it can heat right back up! T-shirts, pants, and sweatshirts will be great for this ever-changing weather!
This Little Sprout…
Archie has become particularly great at taking off one shoe. When we are outside, we will spot him from afar with his shoe, either using it as a shovel in the sandbox or tucking secret little treasures (tiny rocks) into it!
Hudson (belly) knows our schedule so well that, at this rate, he will start walking around right before any mealtime, signing “eat”! I think he’s manifesting that it will come sooner the more he says it; at least that’s what I have always thought.
I don’t even think I need to run circle time anymore. Jack has it HANDLED. Teresa was changing his diaper while we were sitting for circle time, and that boy was lying on the changing table, reciting our whole “Hello” intro song, singing “Hello Reesa, hello Beckham, hello Avery”!
The other day, we pulled out some dress-up bins from the shed outside, and let me tell you. Levon and Wolf HUMBLED us as they walked around in those plastic heels. They ran around, climbed the structure, went down the slide, and jumped over things like it was nothing. My ankles were put to shame that day!
Avery loves her bestie, Eleanor. The other day, she pulled out Eleanor’s sweatshirt, put it on the table, and laid her head on it, snuggling right into it. That’s exactly what I do, too, when I miss my bestie who’s right next to me!!
Eleanor has been rocking some great graphic tees (some of Miss Sam’s favorite bands, too). She came in with a Foo Fighters shirt, and we listened to ‘My Hero’ and sang our little hearts out. Not sure if she actually knows the song, but she could’ve fooled me with the head-banging I was witnessing.
Beckham and I have been enjoying some “parkour” during our playground time. When it really comes down to it, it is just Beckham watching me jump off things, yelling “parkour!!!” and then following suit. Regardless, it is entertaining and hilarious.
parkour
/ˌpärˈkôr/

Parkour is an athletic training discipline where practitioners move quickly and efficiently through an environment by running, jumping, climbing, and vaulting over obstacles.
Here is a much better definition of what parkour is, I promise you our version is not considered “athletic training discipline”.
Here’s to October and Spooky Season!!!
With love.
