Big Seed Families,
September was all about getting to know one another! Since this was the start of our new Big Seeds class, we focused on helping our little one feel safe, comfortable, and confident in their new classroom.
We spent the month getting to know teachers and friends, learning our daily routines, and discovering all the fun our classroom has to offer. We didn’t have a specific circle time theme, but we had so much fun singing, reading, talking, and getting to know each other!
A BIG congratulations to all our Big Seeds and families! You all did an amazing job with this transition!
We are so proud of how much progress our little ones have already made. They are becoming pros at taking great naps, using their sippy cups, and eating at the table! Some of our friends are even beginning to practice using their spoons independently.
We are so excited to see what they accomplish next!
October: Hello, Fall (Halloween)
Fall has arrived, and we are ready for pumpkins, leaves, colors, music, and Halloween fun!
Throughout October, we will explore: changing leaves and fall colors; pumpkins and Halloween; friendly spiders, nature, fall textures, and sensory experiences.

September Highlights:
- Bodhi has been working on his standing and is enjoying pulling himself up on the furniture! He has also been loving to explore the changing leaves and scenery on the playground, and he is excited to show his teachers and peers the crabapples he finds.
- Calvin is so close to walking! He has loved practicing with the walkers and is so fast with them. He has also been practicing his vocabulary and sign language and loves to chat with anyone who will listen.
- Elliotte is becoming so mobile! She loves practicing her walking skills with the walkers or moving around the furniture. She has also been enjoying the books in our classroom and likes to find a cozy place to sit and read.
- Hattie is adjusting so well to our classroom! She loves dancing with her classmates. She is also getting so good at saying “hi” and “bye” to everyone who comes into our classroom.
- Kaia is such a happy, sweet girl who loves saying “Hi!” to everyone she meets. She has adapted beautifully to our daily routine and already feels safe, happy, and comfortable with her teachers and friends.
- Luke has already taken a few steps and is getting very close to walking independently! We have a feeling that once he gets going, he will be unstoppable! Luke loves exploring and is already quite the little climber, making his way around the classroom and the outdoor playground.
- Roman has adapted so well to our classroom routine. He is already using some sign language to communicate, and our happy boy loves to dance! We love seeing his sweet personality shine every day.
Goodbye/ Welcome:
In September, we said goodbye to Ms. Blanca and welcomed Ms. Allison to our Big Seeds classroom! We are so excited to have her join our classroom family!
Reminders:
Outdoor exploration is an important part of our day. As the weather changes, please remember to send:
- Comfortable outdoor shoes
- Light jackets
- Weather-appropriate clothing
- Extra clothes are appreciated for water and sensory play.
- Please remember to bring a sleep sack every Monday and take it home each Friday for washing.
We are also working on our Family Tree this year! You are welcome to participate by sending a family picture. Thank you to everyone who has already contributed; we love seeing your families!
