Seedling Families,
We can’t believe it’s almost summer already! Spring has definitely done its thing with plenty of rain to help the flowers and trees bloom, but we are ready for some warmer weather and a dry yard for our littles to crawl around in. We have enjoyed the sunny Spring days we did have, but now our kiddos sit at the door with demands to go out. Our efforts to explain that it is too cold and wet have been met with a lot of skepticism and an increase in demands.
In June, we will welcome Archie and his family to the Growing Tree and the Seedling Room. This means that someone is leaving the Seedling Room and moving up to the Big Seeds, and that someone is…
Wesley has been playing, eating, and napping with the Big Seeds every chance she gets and will officially become a Big Seed in June. We will miss her energy and snuggles, but we know she will sneak back now and again for a cuddle.
Kollins, Maisy, and Wolf also take opportunities to spend time with the Big Seeds. They will be joining Wesley in July! It has been interesting to watch each of their approaches to something new:
Kollins is roaring and ready to go, racing through the door every time she gets an invite.
Maisy prefers a slow, gentle introduction but is curious about the Big Seed room and wants to explore at her own pace. She is warming up to the teachers and making new friends, and the extra outside play time is always a win.
Wolf
Lonnie has been motoring around the play yard on the little green tractor. He climbs on and off independently and works on his balance as he lets go and stands briefly.
Beckham just wants to be on his feet pushing something, whether it’s the stool, chairs, and push toys inside or the cozy coup and ride-on toys outside. He has great control, weaving around friends and obstacles, pulling out of the ditch, and turning around to motor back in the opposite direction.
Milo thrives on noise, destruction, and hugs. Unsurprisingly, he has found joy in banging on the pots outside. He uses the lids, various blocks, toys, and even other pots to see what sounds he can make. If he isn’t making music, he is searching for dirt to dig in.
Thomas is figuring out how the cozy coupe works. Getting in through the door instead of the window is easier but less fun. Sitting in the seat facing forward is safer, but standing on the seat hanging out the back window is more fun. His cozy coupe antics always keep us laughing and running to save him.
