Seedling Families,
Our infant class is starting to look like a toddler class. We have little ones walking, pulling up, standing, cruising, working on balance, and crawling into every shelf and corner of the classroom. Our little friend Hudson is along for the ride, watching, smiling, and enjoying all the attention from his big friends.
Everyone who can sit independently has had a turn at the little table; they all love the independence and being able to be with friends while they eat. Wesley, Maisy, Kollins, and Wolf are doing great with their plates and sippy cups of milk. Wesley and Wolf have now given up their bottles in favor of a cup.
Wesley is only getting faster on her feet and has enjoyed going outside and playing with the Big Seeds where she can cover some ground.
Kollins is taking more and more steps on her own and is determined not to crawl if she can walk, even if it takes longer to get there.
Maisy has taken a step here and there but knows she can get from place to place faster in 4×4 mode. As her confidence grows, we will surely see longer journeys on foot.
Wolf is focusing a lot on his climbing skills these days, and his goal is to climb to the top of everything. We are encouraging his safe choices. Wolf is a big fan of Hudson and gives the most gentle hugs.
Lonnie has joined his friends standing at the shelves and is happy to be able to participate in the peek a boo fun.
Beckham holds his own with his older friends cruising along the shelves, windows, mats, and chairs. He loves to stand, play at the table, and join in on meals when there’s an open seat.
Milo always wants to be in the middle of the action and will commando crawl his way into a group. He doesn’t care that he can’t stand yet; he’s just happy to be with his friends.
Thomas’s preferred mode of movement right now is scooting on his bottom to get from place to place. He will also grudgingly pull himself across the floor to reach places. He is determined to get up on his feet and has managed to stand up briefly a couple of times.
Hudson is learning to use his hands, batting at toys and occasionally getting a grip on them. He will even use his hand to push his binky back into his mouth. He has a lot to say and enjoys having a friend to share his stories with.
This rollercoaster of weather is taking a toll on our little ones. Now that they know the door goes outside and outside is an option, they don’t understand why they can’t always go outside. They sit at the door looking out the window, hoping to go outside.
When we get those warm days, the shade in our yard is pretty sparse, as the trees haven’t leafed out yet. We would love to have some sun hats to help protect them from the sun.
We hope to see everyone for the conferences. Have a great month!
