Hello, Bud Families!

The Buds had a bountiful harvest season this past month! We talked about the food we can eat, touched and experimented with these foods, and had a mini Buds-Giving with our stone soup during the afternoon snack. Teamwork was used to bring all the ingredients together for our Stone Soup. Thank you, parents, for helping with this task; we appreciate you all!

Corn on the cob, apples, and potatoes made for fun paintbrush substitutions. But where does food come from… was the big question? How does it grow?  Examining these questions helped fill our bellies and our minds!

We also used our imaginations and fine motor skills to decorate rocks, bead corn, and create little scarecrows.

During November, we also identified our gratitudes and if something was helpful or hurtful as we continued to label our emotions. We have also been working on preparing for our Growing Tree  Holiday Sing-A-Long. The kiddos are excited about performing a few songs for their parents! We are excited to see you all there on December 11th.

This month’s unit of study is boxes.  Our Buds will play with and examine all kinds of packages and learn the many uses of boxes. We will provide different-sized boxes to create some social and physical building skills. We hope to:

  • Inspire imagination
  • Propel critical thinking
  • Stimulate flexible thinkers

We also hope to help them learn to:

  • Follow simple instruction
  • Identify rectangles and squares
  • Compare sizes
  • Construct different uses/functions

It was so great to connect during conferences! We appreciate your support and working together to ensure your child continues to thrive in our care. It truly takes a village, and we are so grateful we get to be part of yours!

This month, we welcomed Ms. Maci to the Bud room! She is an excellent addition to our teaching staff as the third Bud teacher! Maci recently finished her Bachelor’s degree, graduated from Oregon State University in Corvallis, and decided to move backto Bend. She has previously worked in preschools and is excited to be back and working with kiddos again!

  • Please label ALL of your children’s items.
