2026 November Big Seed News

Happy November Big Seed Families

The Big Seeds are excited to welcome Asher from Seedlings and Briggs, who is new to Growing Tree. We are so happy to have them join our classroom community and look forward to helping them feel comfortable, welcome, and included.

We are saying goodbye to Kaia as she moves on to Sprout 1. We will miss her very much, but we know she will do great things in her new room!

October Recap

October was full of fun, exploration, and Halloween excitement! The Big Seeds had lots of “boo” fun! They created Halloween art, played with colorful fall leaves, and picked apples in our outdoor playground. We loved watching them explore their environment, use their imaginations, and enjoy the beauty of the fall season together.

Big Seed Highlights:

  • Bodhi loves practicing his balance, both in the classroom and outside. He’ll use anything to help himself stand up! He’s also becoming more vocal and enjoys practicing his sounds, especially “quack” and “woof.” We love seeing him blossom and grow more comfortable in the classroom and with his peers!
  • Calvin started walking in October, and he is almost running now! We are so proud of him and his progress. He loves airplanes. When we are outside and hear one overhead, he looks up, scans the sky, and points excitedly when he spots it.
  • Elliotte is so close to walking! She is so fast with her walker toys around the classroom and playground, and she gets so excited to show her teachers her new skills. We are so proud of how far she has come with her words and sign language. She now uses “more” and “please” at every meal. She has also been loving the changing fall trees and collecting apples in buckets to show her teachers and friends.
  • Hattie has become quite the little dancer! She loves listening to music and dancing along to the songs. We are so excited to see her learning more signs, like “please,” “more,” and “all done.” She has also been such a big helper on the playground, picking up fallen apples and making leaf piles for her and her friends to play in!
  • Kaia loves circle time, especially choosing books and bringing them to her teachers to read aloud. She also enjoys making sad and silly faces while exploring emotions in the How I Feel book! Kaia is developing her communication skills and loves repeating new words. She has even started saying her friend Bodhi’s name! We love seeing her curiosity and excitement as she learns new words and expresses herself!
  • Luke is growing more confident in his walking and has been taking lots of steps! It’s wonderful to see him gain confidence as he explores his surroundings and practices this exciting new skill. He has also loved helping the teachers pick up apples on the playground.
  • Roman has learned our routine and now joins in singing the “Thank You” song whenever we sit down to eat at the table! He also shows so much kindness to his friends by offering hugs and trying to help whenever someone is having a hard time. We love seeing his caring heart shine through in these sweet everyday moments!

This month, our Study is “Gratitude.” We’ll help children explore what gratitude means through fun activities, art projects, books, songs, and everyday moments that foster kindness, sharing, and appreciation for the people and things around us.

  • Hat
  • Two sets of mittens
  • Boots

Please remember to bring a sleep sack every Monday and take it home on Friday for washing.

We are also working on our Family Tree this year! You are welcome to participate by sending a family picture. Thank you to everyone who has already contributed; we love seeing your families! The Big Seeds also enjoy looking at the pictures.

Thank you for being part of our classroom community. We are so grateful to learn, grow, and share special moments with your little ones each day!

Wishing all our families a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with love, warmth, and gratitude.

Our hearts are heavy as Bend mourns the tragic events at Silver Rail. We keep the children, educators, families, and all affected in our thoughts and prayers. May we continue to support one another with love, kindness, and compassion.

With heartfelt sympathy,

The Big Seed Team

Ms. Kelly, Ms. Jocie & Ms. Allison
