2026 March Seedling News

Seedling Families,

February has come and gone; we celebrated Elliotte turning 6 months and Ellie’s first birthday. Ellie has moved to the Big Seed room. Though we will miss her, we are so excited for her and know she’s ready! Sonny and Archie will begin their transitions to Big Seed this month, but won’t be moving up until April 1st. We will welcome Roman this month.

Eat, play, sleep… What is it?  Why do we do it?

The eat, play, sleep routine helps bring a sense of calm and predictability to a new baby. By following a flexible rhythm of feeding, playtime, and rest, we are not just setting a schedule — we are helping your baby learn what to expect next. That predictability can be comforting for baby.

An eat, play, sleep schedule is a flexible routine where your baby eats after waking, spends some time playing or interacting with you, and then winds down for their next nap. This pattern repeats throughout the day — eat, play, sleep, repeat — creating a predictable rhythm without needing to follow a strict or timed schedule.

Children of all ages thrive on knowing what comes next, but for babies in particular, a consistent eat, play, sleep routine helps your little one anticipate daily patterns—when it’s time to feed, explore, move, or rest. This predictability often leads to smoother transitions and a calmer day. Think of it as a gentle, rhythmic flow that supports your baby’s sense of security.

When the infant wakes from their nap, they will be fed and then have playtime until they are ready for their next nap.

Other benefits of the eat, play sleep routine:

It allows infants to separate sleep from eating; it helps to reduce nightly wakeups and ensures babies are getting full feeds. This can also assist babies in digesting their bottles by giving them time during play to do so, which can help with reflux.

Archie, Ellie, Graham, and Sonny have all been working on pulling themselves up during play! They’ve been cruising around the classroom together, offering one another toys and playing peek-a-boo behind furniture. On sunny days, they get to play outside, exploring different textures and engaging their senses!

Bodhi, Calvin, Elliotte, and Luke have all been working on their core strength to roll over and sit up. They love watching the older friends explore and have been excited to discover new ways to use their bodies. Each of them has learned how their fingers move and where their toes are!

We look forward to more changes in the coming months with your little ones. If you ever need any adjustments or have questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We are here for you all!
