2026 June Big Seed News

Dear Big Seed Families,

Can you believe summer is almost here? We’re excited to welcome a fun-filled month of adventures!

Last month, our Big Seeds had so much fun exploring our Transportation theme! The classroom was filled with lots of “vroom vroom” and “beep beep” sounds as the children played and learned about different ways of transportation. They loved rolling toy cars through the sensory table and exploring all the different vehicles during playtime. Outdoor play was extra exciting with riding cars, the children loved pushing their friends around and taking turns getting pushed too! One of the class favorites this month was our Red Truck book, which quickly became a storytime favorite for everyone.

June Study: Ocean Fun

This month, our study focuses on the ocean! The Big Seeds are ready to dive into everything ocean-related as we explore the wonders beneath the sea. We will explore sea animals, ocean habitats, beach fun, and all the incredible things beneath the sea. The children will enjoy sensory play, water activities, ocean-themed art, songs, stories, and more. Get ready to hear lots of “splash splash,” whale sounds, and excited conversations about sharks, fish, turtles, and other marine life!

Big Seed Moments:

  • Archer is walking, almost running, and he is so fast! He loves sitting on the playground watching all the cars drive by on the street. Every time he sees a truck, he excitedly says, “truck.” Now we enjoy pointing them out together and telling him, “Look, that’s a delivery truck!” or “That’s a working truck!” It has been so fun watching his curiosity and language skills grow.
  • Avery loves playing on the playground rocker (seesaw) and always has so much fun during outdoor playtime. She also enjoys playing with balls; she knows how to throw them and patiently waits for you to throw the ball back to her.
  • Eleanor has started walking! We are so proud of her resilience and determination. She falls, gets right back up, and keeps trying without fear. Her confidence and perseverance are incredible to see.
  • Hudson is officially walking! Now that he’s on the move, he’s even more eager to explore the entire playground, chasing cars, balls, and his friends wherever he goes.
  • Jack has been showing a lot of curiosity while exploring the outdoors, especially with all the new petals and leaves around the playground. He also loves playing in the dirt outside and going down the slide during outdoor playtime. Lately, Jack has become even more interested in books, especially stories about trucks!
  • Ren, we are so proud and excited for her—she is now walking! She has been exploring more around the outdoor playground and enjoying her new independence and adventures.
  • Sonny is already walking, almost running, and he moves around so quickly! He is definitely our little dirt expert because he always finds a way to discover dirt and leaves in every corner of the playground. Sonny also really enjoys playing on the slide.
  • Theo has been doing an amazing job mimicking songs and movements during circle time! He especially enjoys songs like “The Itsy Bitsy Spider” and “Five Little Monkeys.” Theo also loves watching the birds fly around during outdoor play. He excitedly makes “ahhh ahhh” sounds while spreading his arms like wings to imitate the birds flying. It has been so sweet watching his imagination, attention, and participation grow.

Outdoor exploration is an important part of our day. As the weather changes, please remember to send:

  • Comfortable outdoor shoes
  • Light jackets
  • Weather-appropriate clothing

Have a great month

Kelly & Grace
