Sprout 1 Families
Welcome to the Sprout room, where every day is a new adventure. Cadence, Declan, Grady, Jaxon, and Violet are excited to welcome our new friends Lily, Elle, and Georgia. We can’t wait to get to know all of you.
In the Sprout room, our focus is on supporting and building your child’s social-emotional skills. We achieve this by encouraging Sprouts to use their words, helping them try new things, allowing them to do as much for themselves as possible, and validating their emotions. Through this process, their sense of self is strengthened positively.
Each month, we will focus on a specific “Study.” September’s study is BRUSHES.
We use a play-based curriculum that lets our Sprouts choose from various center activities. The Sprouts select where they want to play, and it is our responsibility to provide different developmental activities in each center for them to choose from.
Centers include:
- Dramatic Play
- Block
- Sensory
- Manipulative
- Library
- Outside Playground
Our daily schedule includes a morning and afternoon circle, art activities, centers, outdoor play, naps, and meals.

Hello, my name is Teresa, and I have worked at Growing Tree in the Sprout room for almost 22 years. I have been working in childcare for over 37 years and still enjoy it very much. When I am not at work with your wonderful children, I enjoy spending time with my husband, son, granddaughter, and parents. We all love taking trips together. We especially enjoy visiting our property at Lake Billy Chinook; this is where I like to relax by glamping, boating on the lake, and riding the side-by-side. At home, I enjoy reading and spending time with my family. I can’t wait to have some great adventures with your Sprout.
Samantha:
My name is Julie, but I am better known to the children as Nana Julie. I retired in 2013, and my daughter Teresa asked, “Can you come substitute at Growing Tree?” That was almost 12 years ago. I have six children, 16 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. As you can see, I do love kids.

Reminders:
School pictures will be taken on September 23rd and 24th
Please make sure your child has an extra change of clothes at school at all times
Each child has a file folder on the shelf above the cubbies. Please check your file regularly.. where you can find their completed artwork. Hint: the artwork is a nice addition to any refrigerator!
