Bud Families,

Great teachers empathize with kids, respect them, and believe that each child  has something special that can be built upon”  -Ann Lieberman

Welcome to the Bud classroom, we are thrilled to have you!

We have three teachers in the Bud room, and we would like to introduce ourselves in case you haven’t had the chance to meet us yet.

Ms. Stephanie: (7:30am – 2:00pm)I have spent most of my adult life working in early childhood education. I love watching children develop and have those many “ah-ha” moments. I believe in the importance of adult/child interactions and positive guidance. I am the mother of two grown daughters and a first-time grandmother with my second grandbaby on the way this Fall. I love to create, craft, garden, and most of all, spend time with my family.

Ms. Maci: (8:00 am –5:00 pm) I have been working in early childhood education for almost 8 years, and I love knowing that each day is going to be different and exciting. I have lived in Bend for 13 years now. I love going to concerts, I am a huge bookworm, the beach is my favorite place to be, and I love to get outside and explore whenever I get the chance.

Ms. Gale: (8:30 am – 5:30 pm) I have worked with children for over 24 years. I love what I do and look forward to each day. I have six grown children and three grandchildren. I enjoy working in my garden and yard work, going to the beach (Rockaway and Santa Cruz are my favorites), and spending time with family and friends.

This month, we will start the school year by exploring our emotions! We will make “I feel” emotion books, engage in gratitude activities, and sing some fun emotion songs. Our goal is that our Buds will learn helpful re-centering tools, such as breathing techniques, identifying the causes of our emotions, and expressing how we feel through positive reinforcement. This will lay the groundwork for independence and growth that we’ll carry throughout the year.

We have a family board, so please bring in a picture or pictures of your family to add to the masterpiece! The children love looking at their family’s photos on the wall.

Please note that this is an age of growth and independence; however, learning responsibility is an ongoing process. To help us and to help your kiddos, please make sure to label every item of clothing or personal item that you bring into the classroom. This will help us ensure that everything is returned to the right places, especially as more responsibility is given to the children.

All of our love, Ms. Gale, Ms. Stephanie, and Ms. Maci
