Welcome Sprout Families
Hello Sprout Families,
Thank you for the thoughtful notes for Teacher Appreciation Week. It means a lot to us.
Our May study focused on clothes and shoes. The Sprouts enjoyed trying on different dress-up costumes: medical, construction, and zookeeper were their favorites. We discussed the work each costume represented.
During circle time, they practiced removing and putting on their shoes and socks step-by-step. For friends who already knew how, they did a great job helping others who are still learning.
The Sprouts also did a great job coloring specific articles of clothing.
Overall, this month was very fun for the Sprouts as they worked on their independence.
Monthly Highlights
- Avery has done an excellent job guiding her friends when they need help. Avery always corrects her friends when they are riding their bikes the wrong way or when they need a helmet. She is there for them. Although Avery is the youngest in her family, she definitely shows her big sister side in the Sprout family.
- Kollins has been a big fan of dancing this month. She asks for songs and shows her enthusiasm by placing her arms in a dancing position for Miss Yesenia. Silly Kollins!
- Luca seems to be really interested in dressing up as a construction worker. He enjoys exploring what’s in the pockets and asking questions about his badge and what it means.
- Maisy has enjoyed dressing up as a doctor and surgeon. When asked what kind of doctor she is, she says, “Lucy doctor.”
- Milo has done a great job putting on his socks and shoes all by himself. Although it can be frustrating at times, he always manages to complete the task.
- Oliver has also shown his independence by learning how to put on his socks and shoes. Go Ollie!
- Thomas has really become a pro at riding the strider bike. He knows how to move just in time and how to turn even when he doesn’t have much room. He’s definitely becoming fearless. Go Thomas!
- Wesley has been a big fan of dressing up as a train conductor. She walks around the classroom showing her friends and making train sounds.
Water Play:
As you know, the weather is getting hot. Help us keep your kiddo safe and comfortable while we practice water play outside. Water play outside may include: bins with water toys, sprinklers, and a water play mat. Here is what you can do to help: bring in a hat if you wish, bring in some T-shirts, bring in shorts, and bring in water shoes that we can keep here all week so they can go home on Friday. Water shoes can be Crocs or any slip-on rubber shoes that are water-resistant. We appreciate your help!
