Welcome, Sprout 2 families,
September is in the books! Graham, Ren, and Sonny have been a great addition to our little Sprout 2 family, and we’re excited to see where this year takes us. It’s been a great month with smooth transitions. Thank you for your help.
In September, we focused on “Our School,” helping our new friends become comfortable with our classroom routine. We spent the month making those important connections with your child so they feel safe and nurtured while in our care. We also became familiar with our classroom, safety, and routines; after all, everything looks different for them, even the books.
Just a few things we encouraged your Sprout to do in our classroom:
- Each Sprout has their own cubby and has enjoyed using it to store personal items and to put naptime items away all by themselves.
- The Sprouts drink from open cups, use spoons, hang their coats on hooks, and wash their hands independently.
- We have been practicing “Clean up” by putting all of the toys away before attempting a new activity.
- Outside, the playground has been a whole new world. Everything is BIG! So many new experiences, and the Sprouts are ready to engage!
- Encouraging and giving the Sprouts time to do as much as possible for themselves helps develop independence, which in turn builds a positive sense of self.
Monthly Highlights
- Eames has done an amazing job showing his new friends around the room. Eames reminds us of his favorite singer, Keith Urban, whose songs we play both outside and inside during art.
- Graham has explored the playground, and his favorite place seems to be the curbs, where you can sit down and read a book.
- Milo has enjoyed going back to basics with his younger friends and has had a fun time relearning how to use paint sticks and markers.
- Oliver has done a great job reminding our new friends about our classroom rules. Good work, Ollie!
- Ren has done a phenomenal job adjusting to the Sprout 2 Room. Ren has also shown great interest in art and circle time.
- Sonny has been a great addition to the Sprout 2 class. Sonny has shown great interest in climbing on the steps and playing in the sand x.
- Theo has been very excited to be reunited with some old friends. He has shown Ren around the room and even some of his favorite outdoor spots, like the kitchen and the yellow fish.
- Thomas has shown us that he is getting closer and closer to becoming a Bud by showing off his independence. Thomas has done an amazing job at taking his socks and shoes off. Great job Thomas.
This month, our study will be “Paper.” The Sprouts will explore and use paper in many ways. Paper plays an important role in every child’s life and offers endless opportunities to explore colors, textures, shapes, and functions.

Friendly Reminders
- Please continue to practice independence at home whether that is using cups or practicing how to put on and take off socks and shoes.
- Please make sure your child has appropriate extra clothes.
- As the weather is starting to change please keep in mind snowsuit season will be coming sooner than we think! 🙂
- It looks like we are still missing some family pictures. If you’d like to be a part of our family board you are more than welcome to bring in a photo!
