2026 February Sprout 1 News

Sprout 1 Families

In January, we’ve been getting back into the groove! All eight of our Sprouts were here for a whole week at last! Getting back into a routine can be tough, even for adults, but these Sprouts quickly settled back in. With the cold season here, we hope everyone stays healthy and warm!

What have the Sprouts been learning about?

The Sprouts have been very into vehicles (SHOCKING, I know!). I think we have officially sung “Wheels on the Truck” at least eight times a day; we cannot get enough of it! The kiddos are making great connections with the book and will find our toy vehicles that match the part of the song it is in! We have been seeing such a huge growth spurt in all of these kiddos, especially within the last few weeks. Their language skills and ability to make connections are SO impressive. We are so proud of the little humans they are becoming, and so grateful to be a part of these milestones with you guys!

What will we explore next?

In February, we are diving deeper into our emotions and self-regulation! Our kiddos have been loving our feelings chart and are doing such a great job making connections with it. They will point to one of the emotions and either mimic the face or fully name the emotion they are expressing—it is SO impressive! We’ve been practicing our “Hot Cocoa breaths” and discovering fun ways to self-regulate. These skills are so essential to learn, and we’ve already made so much progress since we began discussing them. We are excited to explore even more!

This Little Sprout…

Colette and Georgia have been keeping everyone warm by making sure there’s always a pot of tea on the stove. Every few seconds, you hear “more tea?” Yes, girls, always!

Lily and Elle have also been ensuring NO ONE goes hungry. These girls are busy in the play kitchen making pizzas for everyone. They even ask for specific orders! I consider myself a supreme girl, but they do make a mean cheese pizza!

Maz has made so many connections with the vehicles in his favorite book, ‘Wheels on the Truck.’ He runs over to our toy vehicles when he hears the ‘airplane’ part in the song, grabs the airplane, raises it high with both hands, and yells “AIRPLAAAAANNEEE!”

Lonnie is our rock and roll king. One day, out of nowhere, he pulled out one of our sing-along books and belted each page with his whole chest. Next for him: the big stage.

Beckham is such a character. He loves our feelings chart and is so funny to watch when we go through it. His favorite face to do is SHOCKED. Throughout the day, he’ll look over at us, gasp loudly, and show his shocked face—just to keep us on our toes!

Wolf has been busy at work, constantly taking phone calls on our play cell phones, then putting his friends to “nuh night” by grabbing pillows and blankets and having them lay down. He lulls them to sleep. What a guy.
