2026 February Seedling News

Seedling Families,

My goodness! I can’t believe we’re already through January. Time really feels like it’s passing quickly. In January, we welcomed three new friends to our classroom! Bodhi, Luke, and Graham. We are excited to get to know them. Our friends have welcomed them by sharing toys and showing excitement when they come in!

Growing Tree is CLOSED on Monday, February 16, 2026.

The whole class has been enjoying music! Whether it’s coming from a speaker or a teacher, the kids have been grooving along. Some friends are bouncing to the music, others are waving their arms, and some are giggling or clapping!

Our babies are at various stages right now. Ellie, Sonny, Archie, and Graham are all cruising around the classroom, so we set up toys in different areas or slightly out of reach to encourage reaching or pulling up to reach them. Bodhi, Calvin, Elliotte, and Luke are working on tummy time, rolling, and grasping for toys. We provide plenty of opportunities to develop these skills, such as supporting them while lying on their side, helping them sit up, and placing toys within reach.

FYI

Friends and teachers wash their hands before and after meals, diaper changes, and other activities. Classroom toys are cleaned throughout the day, and the classroom is disinfected nightly to prevent the spread of illness.

Archie returned from vacation on the move! He moves quickly through the classroom with purpose. He is also playing a bit of peek-a-boo with Sonny!

Bodhi has adjusted very well to being in class! We learned that Bodhi loves outside time and when teachers sing to him!

Calvin has been working on rolling over this month! He rolls from his back to his belly and back again! He really enjoys being sung to, especially The Ants Go Marching.

Ellie is crawling throughout the classroom. She is

clapping to songs and when friends/teachers come into the classroom! Ellie is also working on throwing the balls we have in class!

Elliotte has been very happy to interact with other friends in the classroom, often cooing and giggling when they are near.

Graham seems very excited to explore the classroom and make friends. He loves snuggles and to play toss with the sensory balls!

Luke has been giggling and showing off his voice during play– he loves to babble!

Sonny has been intrigued by our new friends; he frequently moves to them to offer toys. He has also been working very heavily on pulling himself up, releasing an arm and balancing.

Til next time,

Jo, Danielle & Blanca
