Bud Families,
It’s November, and we’ve already felt that cold chill coming in. October was a wonderful month in the Bud classroom, as we saw so much growth and development. We will continue to remind the children of our expectations as they become more comfortable in their environment. Each student has settled into the schedule and found a space to take charge of their learning through exploration and discovery.
The Buds discussed the difference between “real” and “pretend” stories. Our October study of fairy tales included the books:
- The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything
- The Three Little Pigs
- The Runaway Pancake
- Goldilocks and the Three Bears
We also checked out our ‘Giant’ pumpkin from the DD Ranch. We’ve had the chance to paint it, hammer on it, and even look inside.
November’s study will focus on the farm harvest season. We will read books about the season and harvesting. At the end of the month, we will work together to make a special classroom treat using apples! The children will then get to taste-test it at our Friendsgiving. We believe the best way for children to learn is through their senses.
Don’t forget to sign up for conferences. We look forward to meeting with you on November 11th! This is an excellent opportunity for us to get to know you better and spend a few minutes face-to-face. We love getting to know your children and seeing their unique personalities shine! Thank you for sharing them with us.
New Bud Students and Families! We welcome Grady, Jaxon, Declan, and Cadence from the Sprout room. They will join us at the beginning of November. We have enjoyed getting to know them in October during their transition days.
A few reminders:
As the weather gets colder, please ensure your child wears clothing that can be layered to match our changing weather.. Outside is a class favorite and a necessity for our Buds. We are outside three different times throughout the day.
It is not too early to bring in the following items for your child:
- Snowsuit
- Boots
- Two pairs of mittens/gloves
- Hat
These items should be left at school all week, taken home each Friday, and returned on Monday, along with their bedding.
After we finish displaying your child’s art, we will place it in their file folder on the table next to the classroom door for you to pick up. Most of our activities are sensory group activities that support problem-solving and help develop social skills through verbal communication and empathy.
School Closures:
- School Closed: November 11th for Parent Conferences.
- School Closed: November 27th and 28th for Thanksgiving.
Thank you for your kindness; we look forward to seeing all of you soon at the conferences!
Best wishes,
Ms. Stephanie, Ms. Maci, and Ms. Gale
