Dear Sprout Families,
Hello, August! You arrived quite quickly! I know I say this every time I write our newsletter, but honestly, I am always shocked how fast time flies.
This month marks our last month with some of our Sprouts before they become Buds. Teresa and I feel so lucky to watch your kiddos grow into such strong, loving, smart, and hilarious individuals. We are excited to see them continue growing as Buds and will cherish our special moments with them in the Sprout room.
This past month, we have explored everything Under the Sea! This has been a personal favorite of mine so far. From singing the endless “Slippery Fish” circle time songs to drying the classroom floor during our soapy water play, it’s been so much fun. We’ve become very familiar with many sea creatures, as you may have seen from our classroom walls. We’ve read a lot of books about sea creatures and loved asking questions about each page—your children get so excited to name each one every time!
This month, we’re sticking with the water theme and exploring rivers and rocks! The animals that live along a river or creek look a bit different from the creatures we see in the sea! Can’t wait to make some beautiful rainbow trout, otters, lizards, and frogs!
This Little Sprout…
As the day winds down, the kids get some big zoomies. Maz, Beckham, and Miss Sam have been practicing big body movements inside and tight, calming squeezes. It’s hilarious to watch them giggle every time I do this, and they always feel so calm afterward!
Georgia and Wolf have been cracking us up with their “going to the movies” games. They grab toy keys, bags, and blankets, turn around, and say “BYEEE!” before heading to the “movies” to spread out their blankets and get cozy. Georgia jokes that they are watching the “purple movie.”
Lonnie and I have been having a blast groove-ing together, enjoying lots of Fleetwood Mac and The Mamas and The Papas! It’s so much fun to dance along.
Jack has had an exciting first month as a Sprout and recently became a big brother to his new sister, Roslyn! Congratulations to the Dreska family!
Crew has been a star helper during cleanup time! Even when it isn’t his mess, he’s always eager to lend a hand—thank you, Crew!
Levon is on a fun adventure exploring Yellowstone, the Tetons, and Jackson Hole! We hope you’re having an amazing time and can’t wait to hear all about your trip!
