Sprout 1 Families

Hello Spring and more sunshine! We’ve been absolutely loving getting outside in the sun and not having to bundle up in snow gear before heading out! This month, our class has been very focused on using safe bodies, gentle hands, and communicating our needs. With the twos, you notice a big increase in energy, boundaries, and independence! We’re learning a lot about cause and effect (ex. If I do this, what will happen next? Will it be the same outcome as before or different? How will this person react? Will that change?) Although it might feel repetitive and like nothing’s changed, creating boundaries is what keeps our kiddos safe and helps guide them through these big developmental milestones! It was so wonderful to get some one-on-one time with you during conferences. Drop-off and pick-up can be hectic, and we often miss the chance to really sit down and check in, so I’m glad we had that opportunity! I hope you all know how lucky Teresa and I feel to have you— we couldn’t stop talking about how much we adore you all!

This past month, we have also been indulging in music and movement! We’ve been dealing with big energy and spring fever, so outlets for large body movements are very important for getting those zoomies out! Every day during circle time, we’ve been singing our favorite songs, ‘Ants Go Marching,’ ‘You Are My Sunshine,’ ‘Rain Rain Go Away,’ ‘The More We Get Together,’ and ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.’ I am sure some of you have also heard about the “Airplane Song” or the “Fire Truck Song” by Blippi. We’ve loved listening to these, laying down in our grassy area, and looking up at the clouds to spot airplanes together. It’s a wonderful way to bring everyone back to their bodies and focus on one thing at a time.

We have been reading a lot of Eric Carle and creating art projects, too! This month, we are going to dive into some different bugs and how important they are to our world! The other day, on the play structure, we found a bee lying on its back and needed help getting up. Miss Yesenia took extra good care to help get it back on its legs, and we watched as it flew away. We were all so happy to be there to help our bee friend!

This little Sprout….

Beckham is headed straight for the big leagues when it comes to basketball, football, and soccer. We are going to have to get taller fences at this rate!!

Maz has been closely watching the yellow truck in the Regroup Thrift parking lot. Every now and then, I walk over and ask, ‘Any updates?’ “Yellow truck, vroom.” Thanks for your service, Mazzy!

Wolf’s bag game has been untouchable. He will grab every bag we have and stuff all his cellphones and food into them, making sure nothing isleft behind. Then he will kindly turn around and give us a wave and say “bye bye”.

Crew is quite the multitasker. I don’t think there is anything that boy can’t do without a truck in hand.

Levon has been loving throwing our basketballs around and giving us big high fives after!!

Coco Georgia and I need a stage ASAP. I wasn’t joking when I said music has been a huge part of this past month. These girls will open up our sing-along books and belt out every word perfectly at the top of their lungs. I definitely see some future karaoke queens.

Lonnie has been cracking us up. He can’t be stopped. He loves playing a game of “I’m gonna get ya”. I always see him in the corner of my eye, plotting his next move, which is usually successful.

Best,

Samantha and Teresa
