2025 December Blossom News

Dear Blossom Families,

The wonder is that we can see these trees and not wonder more.” –

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Dear Blossom Families,

We are so proud of all your Blossom tree experts! Over the past month, we have identified various types of trees, investigated their characteristics, and explored their life cycles. We learned why trees are life-sustaining and essential to our world. We also learned that it’s important to bend with the wind and let go of our old leaves.

Questions to ask your tree expert:

  • What are some types of trees in Bend, Oregon?
  • What kind of animals live in trees?
  • What do trees give us?
  • What are the different parts of a tree?

We will start our Winter Celebrations Around the World study in December. We will explore family traditions for celebrating Diwali, Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, and more. Additionally, each child will have the chance to share their own traditions and holidays they observe at home.

In this study, we will explore how winter is celebrated worldwide and get a glimpse of various festivities. We will create rangoli art, make pinatas, learn how to play dreidel, and much more! We will also discover the stories behind many traditions and festivals. It is a wonderful way to learn about others and to honor our own traditions.

As always, please reach out with any special connections related to our study! We would love families to come in to talk about their holiday traditions.

We’re really excited about our Sing-A-Long this year! The Blossoms have been working hard to impress you and have been heard singing around the playground and classroom!

Holiday Sing-A-Long:

December 8th, 2025

5:45 pm-7:30 pm

Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (UUFCO)

Please remember to pack weather-appropriate gear if you haven’t already. We are working hard to track and care for gloves, mittens, hats, coats, and snow pants, so please make sure your child’s winter items are labeled with their name. We also recommend an extra change of warm-weather clothing, including socks.
