Dear Blossom Families,
“I would teach children music, physics, and philosophy; but mostly music, for the patterns in music and all the arts are the keys to learning.”
-Plato
The music study this month has been very engaging for our Blossom learners! We learned about different instrument families, music genres, and some famous composers and musicians. The Blossoms explored the mini piano, autoharp, electric guitar, ukulele, and the oldest instrument of all: the human voice.
We have been using toy instruments to play along with songs we enjoy and to learn about rhythm. We made instruments from paper, cardboard, tape, and popcorn kernels. We are also having ongoing conversations about how music makes us feel and practicing our songs for graduation!
Along with our music study, we’ve had many discussions regarding upcoming changes, the memories we’ve created, what we’ve learned, making new friends, practicing problem-solving, and what to expect in Kindergarten.
It was great to see most of you at our annual Growing Tree Barbeque! We always look forward to our gatherings outside of school and the chance to connect more and see your families! Thank you in advance for joining us at the Blossom Graduation Ceremony! It will be wonderful to see all of our amazing Blossom families come together for an evening of celebration and fun! The Blossoms are so excited to perform for you, and their teachers, past and present, are eager to join you in celebrating them!
To wrap up this year, we will engage in three week-long studies selected by our Blossoms!
Our explorations will include:
- Sports: An overview of the Blossoms’ favorite sports, how they started, how to play the game, and favorite players
- Transportation: Ways to get from place to place, from walking to space shuttles.
- Sealife: Its inhabitants, features, and famous sea adventurers.
It has been a true pleasure to learn and work with all of you this year in supporting your children’s needs and growth. We deeply appreciate all the time, donations, and encouragement you have shared with the Blossom community. It has been a joy and an honor to witness each of our Blossom students learn and develop.
This year, we explored many incredible aspects of our amazing world, and along the way, we also laughed, cried, danced, pretended, built, experienced, played, learned, and grew! We are very thankful for our time together.
We Wish You Well!
Ms. Stephanie, Miss Madeline, and Mr. Keegan
