Seedling Families,
Last month, the Seedlings had their feet tickled with paintbrushes, and we made some adorable BOO signs for Halloween. We had many ticklish feet and giggly babies in our classroom!
Another fun Growing Tree tradition is happening this month, and it always brings smiles and giggles from everyone who sees it. I don’t want to ruin the surprise, but it does involve painting your child’s bottom. If you’re uncomfortable with this, please don’t hesitate to let us know, and we will offer a second option that’s just as cute.
Ms. Danielle joined our class last month, and the transition was smooth. The babies greeted her with smiles, curiosity, and requests for hugs and play. We look forward to getting to know her better.
Theo and Jack have been spending lots of time with the Big Seeds, playing, eating, and even napping. They are having so much fun that sometimes they don’t want to leave. We will miss their giggling games of peek-a-boo and chase, their requests for books, and the happiness they bring to our class. We are glad they will be moving to the Big Seed class together next month, as it’s hard to imagine them apart.
Hudson still prefers rolling to get where he’s going and is pulling up to a stand with assistance. He’s also warming up to finger foods, and biscuit day is his favorite. He has found his voice, and he will probably tell you what he has to say loud and proud with a smile.
Ren has learned how to push herself from her belly to a sit and has sworn off tummy time. She is trying to shift forward into a crawling position but mostly succeeds at scooting around on her bottom. She is also working on pulling herself up to a stand!
Ellie has mastered sitting up, which is now her favorite spot. After many failed attempts to get her to try purees, we decided to let her feed herself and started offering finger foods. That was a win! She enjoys the independence along with all the new flavors and textures. She especially loves getting a seat at the table with her friends.
Archie is rolling around, exploring every corner and toy shelf. He can sit independently but prefers to stay on the move. He’s starting to try some foods but is a bit skeptical about all the new flavors and textures.
Sonny is a confident sitter, leaning forward, reaching for toys to hold and explore, spinners to spin, and even turning the pages of our board books. When we read the touch-and-feel books with him, he helps turn the pages and enjoys the different textures on each page.
We look forward to seeing everyone at conferences. It is an excellent opportunity to talk with parents one-on-one about their little ones without distraction.
We hope everyone has a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!
Ms Jolene, Ms Danielle, and Ms Blanca
