Seedling Families,
During July, we said “see you outside” to Calvin and Graham and introduced two new friends, Josephine and Rowan! We loved getting to know them! We hope you all enjoyed the Growing Tree BBQ as much as we did!
Important dates:
- Closure: August 31-September 4
- Closure: September 7, 2026
Play time at school & transitions
Allowing playtime is crucial for infant brain development. Throughout the day, we set up safe and inviting environments to guide the children into skill-building without forcing it. This includes changing toy placements—perhaps putting a toy on top of a shelf so they need to pull up and reach for it, hiding a toy under a silk to encourage object permanence, or simply rolling a ball back and forth to practice coordination.
Come September, half our class will move to Big Seed. We are working on transitioning the children to a more Big Seed schedule. We will talk with families individually about what that looks like and how to best prepare your child! Some friends have started using sippy cups for their breastmilk or formula, extending wake windows, and spending outdoor time with the Big Seeds. This helps build a strong foundation with teachers next door, Ms. Kelly and Ms. Jocie!
Child Highlights:
- Asher loves creating sounds with toys. He shakes, rattles, and kicks toys to hear different sounds, and he becomes chatty when his friends approach, giggling and showing excitement!
- Bodhi is on the move this month and is sitting up all on his own! He loves being close to his friends and teachers, leaning in for a friendly touch or resting his head to say hello.
- Elliotte has been pulling herself up to a standing position and walking across surfaces in the room! She’s also been playing a lot of peek-a-boo!
- Josephine is on the move! She has gained lots of strength and mobility since starting with us. She loves moving toward her friends, giggling as they play!
- Lucy is now pushing herself into a seated position and moving around the room! She enjoys playing with Josephine, gently touching heads and smiling!
- Luke is cruising around the room! He loves our classroom mirror, sitting up, giggling, and excitedly patting and kissing his reflection—so cute!
- Roman is walking around the classroom! He loves outside playtime where he can push cars, roll toys, and climb! He’s also developed a love for cleaning!
- Rowan is settling into new routines and faces! He enjoys finding his feet and using them to spin toys or kick up!
Warmly, Your Seedling Teachers
Ms. Danielle, Ms. Jo, & Ms. Blanca
