Sprout Families,
“Play is the highest form of research.” – Albert Einstein
Welcome to Sprout 2! We are excited to get to know all our new kiddos: Elliott, Luca, Sydney, Maisy, Kollins, Avery, and Wesley from the Big Seeds!
Our philosophy at Growing Tree is “Children Learn Through Play.” We focus on giving children independence at their own pace. Several times a day, Sprouts will be outside in nature with their friends, moving freely and testing their gross motor skills. You will be amazed at what your child can achieve through support and encouragement.
Conscious Discipline is our social-emotional approach at Growing Tree. Mindfulness activities are an integral part of our daily routine, helping to build our sense of self and community. Daily activities include toddler yoga, deep breathing exercises, baby doll circle time, and checking in with our emotions.
As Growing Tree teachers, we strive to foster strong connections with each child while providing a positive and safe environment that encourages everyone to grow, learn, and play. Your child will spend each day engaging in creative art projects, playing games, participating in circle time, exploring pretend play, music, and movement activities.
Meet the Teachers:
My name is Ms. Yesenia! I am originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, but I grew up in Bend. I joined the Growing Tree Family in March 2024. I strive to create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment where children can explore, learn, and have fun! Outside the classroom, I enjoy attending concerts, fishing, taking road trips, playing video games, studying astronomy, playing soccer, writing poetry, and spending time with my family and friends. I am excited to meet new families and to be part of your child’s learning journey!
My name is Ms. Jennifer! I am from Prineville but was raised in Bend. I love spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy crafts, baking, cooking, and spending time by the coast. I love all animals, but I have a special love for dogs like my dog Sprinkles, whom I have had since middle school. I’ve been teaching at Growing Tree for nearly two years. I believe that creating a safe classroom and making itfun is very important. I know we can work together to help each child succeed and reach their goals during these toddler years. I’m excited to meet everyone and see where this year takes us!
The Sprout room focuses on a monthly “study.” Our September study will be “My School.” Each month, the study will include activities from each developmental area:
- Social Emotional
- Cognitive
- Language
- Physical Development
- Mathematics
- September Books:
Pete the Cat Rocking in My School Shoes - Llama Misses Mama
- If You Take a Mouse to School.
- September Songs:
ABC’s - Wheels on the Bus
- Make New Friends
- Each child has a file folder right outside of our room.
On Fridays:
Check your child’s file folder on the table in the hallway for art projects and communications from the Center. Take their loveys and blankets home for a good wash and return them on Monday. On Friday, you will receive a weekly update about our week and any supplies your child might need for the upcoming week. In our classroom, we have a “Family” board. Please bring in a 4×6 family photo for us to display. We are always available to answer questions. We are here to help make this transition a fun and happy one!
Thank you,
Ms. Yesenia & Ms. Jennifer
