Seedling Families,
We are pleased to welcome so many new families to the Growing Tree and the Seedling room!
We understand that leaving your infant and returning to work isn’t easy, even for those who have done it before. We aim to make this transition as smooth and stress-free as possible for both you and your child.
Communication is vital to us. Please feel free to share your infant’s likes and dislikes, what works well at home, and any preferences you may have for their care. You know your child best, and we appreciate the information you share with us about them and your hopes for their care here at Growing Tree.
About Us:
Ms. Jolene
My name is Jo, and I have been in the Seedling room for 19 years, with three Growing Tree graduates of my own. I enjoy hiking, biking, swimming, camping, and surfing on the coast with my family. Early morning runs and plenty of coffee help me organize my thoughts and keep me calm throughout the day. My shift is 7:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Ms. Samantha:
My name is Samantha, and I am new to Growing Tree. This is my first full week, actually. Previously, I have nannied for several families and am excited to work with infants in a childcare setting. I was born and raised in Bend and enjoy reading, watching movies, painting, rock climbing, hiking, and spending time outdoors. My shift is from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.
Ms. Blanca:
We understand how difficult and stressful it is to leave your infant in someone else’s care, and we are honored that you chose us.
Infants dropped off before 7:45 am will be with Miss Arren in the Big Seed room.
Helpful Information:
- Please label your child’s supplies, including the package of diapers, wipes, sleep sacks, binkies, bottles, breast milk, or formula.
- Breastmilk must be labeled with:
- Child’s name
- -Date the milk was expressed. We can only store breastmilk in the freezer for two weeks. We prioritize using the oldest milk first.
- Fresh milk can be stored in the fridge for up to three days.
- Thawed milk should be used within 24 hours.
- If you have any questions about breastmilk storage, thawing, use, or discarding leftovers, please don’t hesitate to ask.
- We will be sure to message you on Friday with any supplies needed for the upcoming week. Please bring supplies and a clean sleep sack on Monday in a bag labeled with your child’s name. We will empty the bag and hang it by the door. Any dirty clothes or items that need to go home will be placed in your child’s bag daily. Your child’s sleep sacks will be added to their bag on Friday for washing and returned on Monday.
- Please use the Brightwheel app to send us a message in the morning telling us when your child woke up and last ate. This information helps us better understand their schedule, allowing us to anticipate their needs.
We would love to add your family picture to our family board in the classroom.
Jo, Sam, & Blanca
