1/2 Happy New Year
1/11 Board Meeting
1/16 GT Martin Luther King Day

Happy New Year

I speak on behalf of the entire staff when I say, Growing Tree has the most amazing community. Your acts of kindness, thoughtful words, and especially your Christmas cards made our season bright. Thank you!
A New Year means a new chapter. We hope 2023 is a great part of your story!
We wish you love, laughter, and joy!

Did you know?

Boredom has many benefits! It is not your responsibility to entertain your child all day!
Boredom benefits include:
  • fosters creativity
  • builds self-esteem
  • encourages critical thinking
  • develops problem-solving skills
  • develops inter-personal skills
  • improves mental health
January Statements

Many of you will have small credits or balances on your account. In January, I will send out “Statements" instead of invoices so that you may see your actual balance. This statement reflects the total amount due on your account through January 2023. We aim to get everyone to a "0" balance to start the new year. January statements include:
Any credits or charges due from 2022
January tuition
2022 Volunteer hours not completed
2023 Annual fees (due by March 1, 2023)

FYI:
Our Seedling room is already enrolled full for September 2024. We have eleven sibling babies arriving this spring and summer and only eight openings. So if you are family planning, I want you to know this beforehand.
Winter Clothes

We would appreciate the following items left at school for the winter months: a hat, boots, two pairs of mittens, snow pants, and a winter jacket. By having these items at school, your child will be prepared to go outside each day. Please label all items!!

  • On Friday, you are welcome to take your snow clothes home
  • If your child will be wearing their boots back and forth to school, please provide a pair of slippers or tennis shoes for them to wear in the classroom

Did you know that children are not recommended to wear any coat in their car seats?  Car Seats and Winter Coats

Brightwheel Billing

Last month Brightwheel sent out a message that you could pay your bill through Brightwheel. This was an error; Growing Tree is not using the billing feature. Next year we will look at the billing feature in greater detail.

Inclement Weather

For your review, our Inclement Weather/Emergency Closure Policy is as follows:
  • Growing Tree does NOT follow the public school schedule for snow/weather days or 2-hour delays. It is our goal to remain open as usual.
  • On these days when the public schools have closures, I will send out an early alert message confirming our status via BRIGHTWHEEL
  • In the event we need to close the center due to weather or an emergency, we will contact you first via BRIGHTWHEEL and then post closure information on Facebook.
  • In an emergency, if the situation allows, we will contact you via phone once we are safe.
