Welcome to the Big Seeds room!

We loved jumping right into fall with our Big Seeds as much as they enjoyed jumping in piles of leaves outside. Oh, and did you hear all those BOO’s at home because we sure did here. As we hop into November, the month of being thankful, we would like to thank all of you, Big Seed families, for everything you do for your children! They are coming a long way from where we started 2 months ago!

October:We

We learned about fall! We got to jump in piles of leaves outside and throw them over our heads! We also learned that we can pick our leaves and create trees. We had lots of fun creating spiders, so watch out for them as they end up in your home. Ahh!

November:

Our study is “ We are thankful.” We will learn everything we should be thankful for, like our parents, food, and acts of kindness from friends and family. Wait til you hear us gobble gobble down the halls! We also enjoy having corn during lunchtime, but what about painting one for a feast?!

November Books:

  • Because of an Acorn
  • The Autumn Visitors
  • Apple Cake
  • One Little, Two Little, Three Little Pilgrims

Songs of the month:

  • Gray Squirrel
  • We are Thankful
  • The Leaves Are Falling Down

Big Seed Happenings:

  • Elliott loves to play in the Halloween sensory table every day! It has quickly become his favorite.
  • Sydney is working on mastering her walking skills and will be running any day.
  • Eliza loves singing “Row, Row, Row Your Boat” & finding apples on the playground.
  • Luca babbles and says many words, like apple, truck, and witch. You would think he has been working on it for months!
  • Elle has mastered walking! She is now walking everywhere with friends and enjoying moving her body around to dance.
  • Lily loves dancing and reading books. She has also been practicing her walking skills by using the walkers in the room and holding onto the furniture.

Reminders:

The cold weather is here to stay! We want to be prepared for those chilly days. Please make sure to send your child in comfortable layers. With cold weather comes runny noses, coughs, and goopy eyes. We always try to keep the room clean and sanitized as much as possible, but germs are in the air.

We invite you to give Growing Trees illness policy a quick review.-

The Big Seed room will spend time outside all winter, so your child will need the following at school.

  • Snowsuit (One piece suits work best)
  • Coat/Sweatshirt
  • Hat
  • Mittens (two pairs please)
  • Boots
  • Please label all clothing

If you haven’t already done so, we would love a family picture to add to our “Family Board.”

Best- Stacey and Maria
